  • Q. What phone models does MovaMessenger support?
    
A. MovaMessenger was developed using the open standards of Java and Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP). MovaMessenger can support any mobile phone with Java capabilities (both MIDP 1.0 or MIDP 2). However, due to the extensive number of mobile phones worldwide, we can not directly test every device.
  • Q. Do you support smart phones and wireless PDAs?
    A.
If your Smart Phone or wireless PDA supports Java, it will likely work with MovaMessenger. 
  • Q. Do you support Symbian?
    
A. Not at this time. Please keep in touch as we are expanding our services to work with other mobile platforms. 
  • Q. Do you support BREW or Windows Mobile?
    
A. Not at this time. Please keep in touch as we are expanding our services to work with other mobile platforms. 
  • Q. Does MovaMessenger work on any type of wireless network?
    
A. Mobile Mail is a network-agnostic service. All you require is a java-enabled mobile phone, and Internet access. Downloading & Connecting to MovaMessenger
  • Q. Does MovaMessenger require full internet GPRS or is WAP-based internet access all it needs?
    You must have full Internet access (MovaMessenger uses a TCP Socket)
  • Q. I can download the application but I can not connect?
    
A. The MovaMessenger client application is downloaded to your mobile via WAP, however, the application connects and runs via GPRS (Internet APN). You must ensure you have the required data service from your mobile operator, and that your mobile is configured properly. Please contact your mobile provider for details. 
  • Q. Do I need high speed network service to use MovaMessenger?
    
A. No. MovaMessenger works on both “dial-up” and high-speed 2.5/3G data networks. MovaMessenger was specifically designed to provide high performance rates on lower speed networks. 
  • Q. What level of data subscription do you recommend for MovaMessenger use?
    
A. You should have a data account that provides several megabytes of data per month. This can vary depending on your specific usage patterns. Data consumption is dependent on the number of times you connect to MovaMessenger and how long your chat sessions are with your buddies. On average a simple chat session where you exchange with a buddy a dozen times will consume approximately 4-10kb of data (0.004-0.010 MB). 
  • Q. Is my instant messaging session secure?
    
A. Yes. Your account information is encrypted, and stored on our servers which are in a secured network centre with restricted access. Your account is password protected as well. Using MovaMessenger
  • Q. Does MovaMessenger provide all the functions of an an online Instant Messaging service?
    
A. MovaMessenger is a high performance mobile email application that provides you all the core functionality that you would expect from your existing email service. We are committed to always make MovaMessenger the best Mobile IM service available. Future releases will provide new features and performance enhancements.
  • Q. Can I access more then one Instant Messaging service?
    
A. Yes. MovaMessenger supports numerous accounts. Current service support includes:
    Yahoo Messenger
    MSN Messenger
    AOL Messenger (AIM)
    Google GTalk
    ICQ
    QQ
    Jabbler
  • Q. Does MovaMessenger handle file transfer?
    
A. MovaMessenger will support file transfer in an upcoming release. 
  • Q. Do I have to enter Login information every time I want to instant message someone?
    
A. No. You only have to Login when you start your service for the very first time. After that your MovaMessenger User ID and Password are stored and manual Login will not be required.
  • Q. Is my information secure with MovaMessenger?
    
A. Yes. Data security is a high priority to us. Your password is stored encrypted on our servers. Our servers are located in a secured facility with access only by authorized personnel. It is important that account information is only retrievable if you have your correct mobile phone number entered into your MovaMessenger account.
  • Q. What is your privacy policy?
    
A. We are firmly committed to respecting your privacy. We do not share your information with any third party without your prior consent. If you have any questions, please review our privacy policy. 
  • Q. Why do I have to provide my mobile phone number?
    
A. Your mobile phone number is used to recover lost passwords and verify your MovaMessenger account.  Trying & buying MovaMessenger service
  • Q. Can I get a free trial before deciding to buy?
    
A. Yes. In fact we encourage it. We believe the best way for you to understand and appreciate the value of MovaMessenger is to Try It! 
  • Q. Where can I buy MovaMessenger?
    
A. MovaMessenger can be purchased directly from www.MovaMessenger.com, your mobile operator or one of our online retail partners. For more information, consult your operator or see our current offers. 
  • Q. What payment methods do you accept?
    
A. Purchases made directly through www.MovaMessenger.com are accepted through PayPal. Payment methods may vary between retail partners, but most currently accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Monthly service subscription payment options are available through licensed mobile service providers and charges are applied to your monthly billing statement or prepaid account. 
  • Q. How much does MovaMessenger cost?

  • Q. What is your refund policy?
    
A. Our retail and wireless operator partners offer their own refund policies. Please refer to their purchase agreements, or contact their Customer Care departments directly for more details. Due to the Free Trial policy we do not provide refunds after you have subscribed.
